April 4th - WHAT A GREAT DAY!

We started out the day by celebrating Ammon's Birthday

Later we surprised Ammon with his new brother and sister. They were able to leave the NICU and come home just in time for Ammon's birthday...what a great gift.

We are so excited to have them home!

I didn't know if they would like to be together after being apart for almost two weeks but given the chance to be together they rolled toward each other and rested their heads together.

They also like to hold hands or hold each others p.j.'s

Here is Grandma playing dress-up with her first granddaughter.
My mom was able to stay with us for almost 3 weeks. It was nice to have her help so we could go back and forth between home and the NICU and not have to worry about Ammon. We didn't have to worry about cleaning, laundry, taking care of Ammon, getting groceries, well you get the point. Thanks for all your hard work Mom. Meanwhile Dad was stuck at home starving.

Ammon has been a big help. While I was feeding Burklee, Kellan started screaming for food. Ammon was so concerned and got upset with me because Kellan was so hungry, so I decided to let Ammon try to feed him and it worked out great.
We are so grateful for all the help we have recieved. We are so lucky to have such great friends and wonderful family so close to us.

BURKLEE & KELLAN HAVE ARRIVED!

My first look at Burklee
Jeff keeping on eye on Burklee in the NICU

Keeping busy watching both kids.

Ammon got me some beautiful flowers. He wanted to put the flowers next to the the babies footprints. Grandma Cellan got Burklee a cute brown hat.

The twins first photo together.
Ammon got to hold Kellan for the first time. He is not allowed in the NICU so we got a chance to take Kellan out in the hall so that Ammon could interact with him. Ammon sang him some songs and tried to teach him his name. Burklee still can't go out because she is hooked up to a lot of monitors. Ammon can't wait for the babies to come home.

Just about 1 week old and doing great!
They are finally here and we couldn't be happier. We have two beautiful babies that have already brought us much happiness. We are grateful to be blessed with two special new additions to our little family. It all began Sunday March 22nd. I started having contractions Sunday evening around 8:30 p.m. I thought they would go away so I didn't pay much attention. At 9:30 p.m. I finally decided to take the contractions seriously; we got to the hospital at 11:00 p.m.; Burklee was born at 12:33 a.m.; Kellan was born one minute later. It all happened so fast. Burklee weighed 5lbs. 2 oz. and Kellan weighed 5 lbs. 4 oz. The twins were taken to the NICU immediately. Burklee was having problems breathing because her lungs had fluid in them and they were a bit under-developed. Kellan was struggling to keep his temperature and eat so he has had to stay in the NICU as well. Both babies are still in the NICU a week later and they are both doing great. Each day we see improvements thanks to wonderful nurses who are absolutely amazing, and a lot of love and prayers.

AMMON'S FIRST SOCCER GAME

Ammon had his first soccer game last Saturday. He even scored a goal! This picture shows him getting ready to kick the ball in the goal. It was really neat to see him having so much fun. He really loves to race everyone up and down the field. I was sitting in the car and as he and Jeff were walking to the car he said "I hope I made mommy proud." I thought that was pretty cute.

"BOYS HAVE MORE FUN THAN GIRLS"

Jeff and Ammon at Pebble Creek Ski Resort

T.J., Carver, Ammon & Jeff
4 lil' buddies having fun together on the slopes!

While the boys spent several hours swimming I had to lay around in the hotel room all by myself.

Ammon getting ready to go on a big snowmobile ride with Jeff and Papa.

The boys are ready for some hot chocolate after sledding down all the big snow piles at Bonkin & Papa's house.

Ammon and Jeff have been able to spend a lot of time together lately. They have enjoyed many fun activities while I have sat on the sidelines and watched. I am pretty sure Ammon thinks Jeff is awesome and I am boring! One night after Ammon went skiing with his buddy Carver he told me "boys have more fun than girls!" I asked him why and he said because boys can go skiing, and ride snowmobiles, and play dinosaur's. Apparently girls don't do those kind of things. I can't believe he already forgot how much fun I can be.

DESPERATE

Poor kids! All they want to do is spend some time outdoors.
Ammon, Carver & Indie were having fun on the swing set for about 3 minutes...then the cold got the better of all three of them. Needless to say I don't think they will attempt the swings until we get rid of the snow.
They are all desperate for warm weather!

Poor Me! All I want to do is get through these next few weeks in a hurry.

I am at 32 weeks right now and the goal is to get to 34-36 weeks. I just don't know if I can endure this pain and stretching for that much longer.
I am desperate for time to fly!

Just in case you need a good laugh...I got stuck in the bathtub the other day! I got in but I couldn't get out...that is how large and awkward I am getting. So I just sat in the tub and laughed for about 20 minutes, I finally called Jeff and he couldn't come home because he was stuck in meetings. HIS SOLUTION: He said he was going to call Heidi (neighbor) and have her come help me...and that was incentive enough to find a way out.

AMMON'S 1st DAY OF SCHOOL

Ammon started preschool this February. He absolutely loves going to school! He is already learning so much...it is amazing to see how much he loves to learn. He was a little on the nervous side when we were getting ready for his first day of school. The instant he met his teacher his nerves were gone. She is fabulous with the kids and made him feel so welcome. She asked him his name and he said "my name is Koda." He has been telling everyone that. Watch out if you try to correct him...he will give you a nasty look.

Ammon thinks he is pretty cool because he gets to use "mommy's pack-pack!"

He is always so proud of his work.

JANUARY UPDATE

Jeff took Ammon up to Pebble a couple of times this month to teach him how to ski. The first time they went alone and the second time they went with Ammon's buddy Carver...and Jeff's buddy T.J.! Ammon really loves to ski and all he wants to do is go fast. He doesn't want to learn to turn or slow down. Jeff got yelled at all night "faster daddy, faster!"
Jeff with his brothers, Taylor & Tanner! Kristy had to take the picture so she got left out. The four of them had a great time together while me and Ammon hung out. When Ammon woke up and found out where his dad was...well lets just say it was a disaster for about 45 minuets. Poor kid just wanted to go skiing with his dad.

Ammon asking Aunt Becky on a date. He presented the rose and asked her to go to dinner with him.

She said YES!

I have been on a modified bed rest for the last little bit so Ammon has been really good to help out during the day. One morning he asked if I would make him some Ebilskievers (his favorite)for breakfast and I wasn't up to it so he took over and made them. He loves to cook! He has been a really big help around the house.
The boys were both worn out after a long day of taking care of me.

CRAZY BOYS

Ben and Cadence let Bryson stay and hang out with Ammon for a week after Christmas. The boys had so much fun together. We only had one crazy incident during the week. Jeff and I pushed a couch up against Ammon's bed so that the boys could sleep in a little fort in Ammon's room. Well at about 1:00 a.m. we wake up to screaming. So we both go running into the room only to find Ammon puking all over himself and all over Deeders. It was pure chaos! I grabbed Deeds and Jeff grabbed Ammon and we got the situation under control in a pretty speedy manner. Needless to say I think we will be able to handle twins. Sorry we didn't get any pictures of the crazy night, but here are a few pictures highlighting the boys week of fun.
These two boys love to wear their Spider-Man costumes ALL THE TIME! When they were running on the track they told me "we are super-fast" I asked why and they said "because Spider-Man is super fast!"
Here are the Spider-Man twins having a blast at the fun zone. They played for two hours solid in this jungle gym area and they still were not tired. I thought it was pretty funny watching them because they scared all the little girls away.

I don't know why Ammon has to act like his dad......how hard is it to say cheese?

Once again...way to go Jeff...look what you've done!

Oreos & Milk!!!!
Deeders loved drinking out of the little mug.

Out of three boys I could only get one to look away from the movie and smile for the camera. Easton is adorable!

CHRISTMAS IN SODA

Santa made a surprise appearance to the grizwold family Christmas Eve dinner.
Ammon wanted to make sure Santa was going to bring him a transformer.
We finally got all three boys to stand by Santa...the little girls didn't want anything to do with the big man in the red suit.

Christmas morning all three boys were looking good in their matching p.j.'s. I am sure Buzz would want me to say she is also looking good. The girls all got the same bottoms Buzz (Whitney) is wearing and the big boys got black p.j.'s with deer on them.

Ammon got spoiled!

The boys getting ready for a ride the day after Christmas.

Look...a bunch of grizwolds are getting ready for a big ride! Notice the two John Deere classics. I am sure they all had fun...I wouldn't know because Cadence and I had to stay home and do this....

Cadence hard at work on the old wooden ladder. I won't show you any pics of me on that old thing because it ended up being quite the site. So here I am showing off the finished product...

Merry Christmas Mom!

AMMON'S PHOTO GALLERY

Ammon really likes to take pictures and he usually does a pretty good job. Ammon's Uncle Brandon suggested we post some of his work on our blog. So here are some of his latest photos.
This one was funny because he told Sis to smile and just as he got ready to take the pic he says "hers rescusting" so that is why she is laughing so hard! I will not show you the pic he took of me immediately following the incident cause I am laughing pretty dang hard and lets just say it's not a pretty sight!
Kurt and Kris hanging out!

Tan & Tay
(Tay lookin great with his chubby cheeks...he just had his wisdom teeth removed)

and as Ammon always says about Kristy..."she's keepin it real"

ONE BOY! ONE GIRL!

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and discovered we are getting one boy and one girl. We had fun watching them. The boy (giving the peace sign) kept giving his sister elbows to the head. You can see in this picture he has his elbow on her head and she is looking away from us. Most of the time she tried to hit him back and protect her face. I think she is going to be scrappy! After we watched him give her about 20 elbows to the head, he decided to flash his peace sign to let us know he was just playing. It was pretty funny. We also got to watch as baby boy's bum was right on his sister's face. She kept putting her arms over her face so she didn't have to look at his bum...I don't blame her. Anyway everything looked really good and we are really excited!
